Nearly 2.2 million people tuning in to Sky’s Olympics coverage - Sky
The number of New Zealanders enjoying Paris 2024 continues to grow, with nearly 2.2 million people (2,186,400) tuning in to watch the games on Sky’s Olympics channels, including the Gold Channel on free-to-air[1] – with an average of 1,356,900 people watching every day.

Engagement with Sky’s digital platforms, Sky Sport Now and Sky Go, also continues to climb, with over 6 million streams (6,111,864) during the same period, with an average of nearly 1.5 million streams per day (1,455,012). This is made up of 272, 840 total unique viewers across the two streaming platforms.[2]
Team New Zealand’s medal winning events have drawn significant audiences yesterday New Zealand time. The Triathlon coverage last night captivated viewers, with over a million people (1,096,500) watching the Men’s and Women’s Triathlon last night on TV. And earlier that day, nearly half a million New Zealanders (450,000) watched the NZ Women’s Sevens team winning gold – with 710,000 viewers having watched the team through the length of their Olympics campaign.
Additionally, over 400 short clips, highlights and memorable moments from the Olympics have been shared on Sky’s social channels (YouTube, X, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram), with an impressive level of engagement: over twelve million impressions and 7.75 million video views, with 850,000 engagements and 15,000 shares.[3]
A video of the NZ Women Sevens’ team haka is the most popular video to date, with over 400,000 views.
