What's House of the Dragon Season 2 about?
Following King Aegon II's coronation and the death of Lucerys Targaryen, Season 2 follows the 'Greens' and the 'Blacks' as the "Dance of the Dragons" begins.
As those supporting Alicent and Viserys's son Aegon II attempt to run the realm from King's Landing - despite their king's lacking leadership - Rhaenyra's Black Council debates the value of measured moves versus more impactful responses to Luke's death from Dragonstone. Although both wome cling in some ways to the memory of their friendship, the momentum of the war has begun, and they find themselves at odds with even their closest allies.
Plots to find support within the great houses move the action of the series from beyond the walls of the Red Keep to the lands of Westeros, where petty rivalries inform decisions just as much as the threat of death and destruction. The desire to amass larger armies and more strongholds divides our main characters, leading them down separate paths where mysterious visions, bastards with hidden talents, and brutal dragon-on-dragon battles await.
